On the heels of a Virginia State Cup championship, over 8 teams took home titles and 6 more finished as finalists in the final weekend spring season events all over the state. Chesterfield United FC has completed its most successful year in its 30+ year history and is arguably one of the top player development clubs in Central Virginia and throughout the state. As the only Richmond club to take home a spring state cup title and one of only two non-Northern Virginia clubs (Virginia Rush) to hold that honor, the club is very confident that 2010-11 will be even better. "The results we have achieved this year dismiss the connotation and rumors that tend to circulate about the level of United FC. Since we have been disallowed to join the VCCL and our players are constantly recruited away to surrounding clubs we have focused on developing the talent we have and to be better tactically and more competitive than our neighbors and opponents throughout the region. Our staff is top notch and our players are very talented and committed to the direction of our program. Richmond’s a tough market but we like our position and direction and look forward to consistently winning league titles, tournament titles and state cups in the future. If the players and families trust the club, enjoy the game and work hard the success will definitely continue." says technical director Kevin Darcy.
Thanks to the long list of success, United FC will kick off the 2010-11 campaign as a flagship Club for world soccer giant PUMA North America. As a Total Club Concept (TCC) organization the players, staff and membership will see tremendous benefits year around.
