United FC has formed a partnership in the best interest of our player’s development with the Richmond Strikers.  We are considering many training and playing opportunities within the partnership and feel that the U16 & U18 US Academy program is the highest level available to our players in youth soccer.  If any of our players deserve to play in the US Academy we will support that and help them get there.  The kids that tryout but are not accepted into the academy will continue to play on the elite level with United FC but stay on the radar with Strikers.  We feel this is the best environment to develop the players and keep them in the player pool for the academy program.  For this reason we are creating an annual I.D. calendar with the Strikers to put this plan in motion (see below).  In addition, stay tuned for regular announcements concerning opportunities for all United FC players.

Scrimmages

Staff from both clubs, based on their needs, will look to set up scrimmages throughout the course of the year.

 

Scrimmages against Academy teams

In the purpose of evaluations and player’s development, the Strikers Academy staff will set a series of scrimmages for its U14 Academy team against Chesterfield U14/15 teams, for its U16 against a squad made of U15-18 Chesterfield players and for its U18 Academy team against FC Fredericksburg PDL and/or Super Y teams.

 

U14 age group

Since the U14 category has become an Academy age group, both clubs will look for opportunities to have both U14 teams to train together and/or scrimmage twice in the Fall and twice in the Spring.

 

U8 pool

U8 Chesterfield pool will be invited to Longdale to come and play with Strikers ADP program (once in the Fall and once in Spring).

 

U14 and U15 Players’ events:

 

From September thru November and February thru April, 1 or 2 Chesterfield players will be invited every other week to come and train for each the U14 Academy and U16 Academy teams.

 

Clubs events:

 

Both clubs will foster opportunities for players to grow in a better soccer environment, to compete against good competition. Here is a list of potential events:
