RESULTS from Sunday March 15th Friendlies vs Southern Maryland FC

With a light mist of rain in the air, the United FC SRSL teams played extremely well winning 2 matches by the score of 2-0 and losing a closely contested game by the score of 3-2.  After having several events and practices cancelled due to the poor recent weather conditions the teams looked sharp against the quality opponents from Southern Maryland.  The matchday results were as follows:

U14’s United FC 2 - SMFC 3 (goals: McCaela Holt, Lexi Zipp)

U15’s United FC 2 - SMFC 0 (goals: Meredith Baldasare, Nicolette Young)

U16’s United FC 2 - SMFC 0 (goals: Kim Accashian, Liz Reinwald)

SRSL Families,

Hope everyone is doing well.  Thanks for your commitment and patience with the inaugural season of the SRSL.  Scheduling for the league has been challenging but I have been discussing the SRSL with the league representatives and am awaiting information on hosting as well as the proposed championship in June.  In an effort to host games in Richmond, I have lined up a match day with Super Y club Southern Maryland FC on Sunday March 15th with details below.  I realize that club and high school has begun and training for the SRSL teams will only occur leading up to future events.  Since we are US Club carded teams, we are looking at other playing opportunities and have listed those options below.  I have updated the SRSL webpage to reflect the below information and will keep everyone updated as dates and locations are confirmed.  Good luck in your spring seasons and look forward to the next match weekends!

SRSL MATCH WEEKEND #1 A SUCCESS! - December 14, 2008

United FC’s U14, U15 & U16 girls teams had a great start in the Southern Regional Soccer League this past weekend in Raleigh.  The competition was strong over the weekend as the teams played against Lake Norman Soccer Club, Knoxville FC and Triangle FC at the beautiful Wake Med Soccer Complex.  The U16’s earned 6 points with two wins and a 1-0 loss to Triangle United.  The U15’s defeated Knoxville 3-0 and tied Triangle United Navy 3-3 and the U14’s battled tough with a mix of U13’s & 14’s but fell to LNSC & Knoxville FC.  The rosters were made up of players from United FC, Virginia Legacy, Richmond Strikers and SASA in this Super Y style US Club Soccer League.  To view the weekend scores go to the "match schedules and results" page.
