Player Invite Letter
SRSL Player,                                                                                                                             October 24, 2008

You have been selected and are invited to be a part of the Southern Regional Soccer League team! The United FC technical staff and coaches have watched you with your team in training and in games and feel you have what it takes to play at this elite level.

The Southern Regional Soccer League, or SRSL, is a US Club Soccer sanctioned girl’s league and includes 12 of the top soccer clubs in the southern region. United FC is proud to be selected to participate in this inaugural season and is forming teams in the U14, U15 & U16 ages of players from Chesterfield, Williamsburg and the Central Virginia area. The following is a list of clubs that have accepted a position in the SRSL and will be league opponents to United FC in 2008-09:
-          Augusta Arsenal (Georgia) www.augustasoccer.com
-          Bridge FA (South Carolina) www.bridgefa.com
-          Charlotte United (North Carolina) www.charlotteunited.com
-          Coast FA (South Carolina) www.coastfa.com
-          FC Alliance (Tennessee) www.fcallianceknox.org
-          Georgia/South Carolina Bulls (Georgia) www.ga-scbulls.com
-          Lake Norman Soccer Club (North Carolina) http://lakenormansoccerclub.d4sportsclub.com
-          Roanoke Stars FC (Virginia) www.roanokestar.com
-          SOCA (Virginia) www.socaspot.org
-          Triangle FC (North Carolina) www.trianglefc.org
-          Triangle United Soccer Association (North Carolina) www.traingleunited.org

The SRSL is designed to work around a club’s league and tournament schedule. Each team will play a minimum of 8-10 matches on 4-5 separate weekends. The idea is to minimize the travel costs by inviting 3-4 clubs in on a weekend and playing multiple games at a single site. For example the league schedule could be completed on 4 weekends with 2 of the weekends close to home and 2 of the weekends away. Currently the league has scheduled a few dates on the website and is in the process of adding additional ones. At this time the following dates are scheduled, in the process of being confirmed or being considered by the league member clubs:
-          December 13 &14 in Raleigh (Confirmed)
-          January 24 & 25 in Augusta
-          January 31 & February 1 in Charlotte (Confirmed)
-          February 14 & 15 in Charlotte
-          March 28 & 29 in Knoxville

The U15 & U16 teams will have a league championship tournament in May and the U14 teams may attend a season ending event as well with the other league teams. As with Super Y and other high level league programs there is additional cost to join these teams and the club is working on raising sponsorship to offset the expenses. Current cost to join the program is $275 for United FC players and $300 for players from other clubs. The fee will cover US Club carding and registration, coaching, league and referee expenses, long sleeve jerseys and socks, as well as a few miscellaneous expenses.

The coaching staff and administrator will be in contact with you soon to confirm scheduling and team logistics in preparation for the upcoming matches. As the league is in its inaugural season and currently confirming dates, locations and league logistics things are coming together quickly and the potential first event is right around the corner. Players are asked to make a verbal commitment by email to Martin at mdell@chesterfieldunited.com by Wednesday November 5th. To view the philosophy and additional information about the Sothern Regional Soccer League go to www.srsl.us

Thanks in advance for your consideration of this exciting program and we look forward to working with you to create a top level team!
