CHESTERFIELD UNITED FC – CLUB OVERVIEW
The Chesterfield United Football Club is a result of 28 years of club development and evolution. The club debuted in 1980 as Dale Youth Soccer and in 1995 became Chesterfield Soccer Club. In 2002 Chesterfield Soccer Club merged with James River United to form Chesterfield United Soccer Club. On May 1st of 2008 Chesterfield United Soccer Club made a subtle name change from “Soccer Club” to “Football Club” and is now known as Chesterfield United Football Club, Chesterfield United FC, CUFC or “United FC”.
Chesterfield United FC is a 501-C3 non-profit organization based out of Richmond, Virginia in Chesterfield County. CUFC offers some of the top facilities in Central Virginia including outdoor county fields @ Ironbridge Park, a partnership to train indoor at U-Turn Sports for technical development, speed and conditioning as well as indoor futsal play in the winter.
Chesterfield United FC is looking to build on its club model and offerings by adding indoor and outdoor senior teams in the Winter and Summer months. These minor league caliber teams would be at the top of the CUFC pyramid and will set the tone and provide positive mentorship for the three United FC core programs. The three CUFC core programs include a two season recreational league of around 1000 players per season, a competitive travel club program of 500+ players as well as a developmental program that includes the United Kick Start classes (3-5 yrs), the United Development Program "UDP" (5-12 yrs) along with our United FC Summer Camp Series for boys and girls of all ages. The 3 club priorities of; recreational leagues, travel teams and developmental programs offer a variety of playing levels, developmental options, cost packages, and opportunities for the players in the greater Richmond area.
